Hey guys. And welcome back to the out of your mind podcast today on episode number 19, we are going to take a really quick dive into the mindset. Have a heart centered CEO and specifically the process to get you into that mindset as well. As why it's so important. So let's just dive straight in. You're not going to want to miss this one

Pamela:

Uh, the story of mindset. I shared an episode recently that explored the idea of shifting from the employee mindset into the heart centered CEO mindset. And today I want to talk about two things. The first is the process. To make the shift. And the second is the power of that shift on your life and your business. So let's just review for a moment. There exists within the world of mindset dialects, which is opposing social forces or concepts. So two ends of the spectrum. Within this world. Here are a few examples, right? There's the fixed versus the growth mindset. There's scarcity versus abundance. And there's the employee mindset versus the heart-centered CEO mindset. And that's really what today is all about. But first let's look at how these different mindsets relate to each other. What's really interesting here is that all of these mindsets, if you were to lay them out on a transparent sheet, remember those days. Back in school, the overhead projectors colored wetter, race markers. Just me. I used to love when the teachers would take all of these individual sheets, they had been working on and put them all together to create this whole new perspective, right. This whole new perspective would emerge and it would blow my mind. And I still like having my mind blown today and I love it. When I have the ability to offer a little of that feeling. For you. So follow me here. When you look at beliefs that exists in mindsets, like fixed scarcity and employee mindsets, most of the qualities overlap, meaning they're the same or similar. That also means growth. Abundance and the heart centered CEO share many qualities and characteristics. In fact, it's fair to say that a heart-centered CEO embraces growth and lives in abundance. And growth. And abundance are a huge part of the process of getting there and there is yes, a heart-centered CEO mindset. And then there is the being. Of the heart-centered CEO. Who embodies this mindset. So we're going to walk through it from a mindset perspective for a little while. So let's break it down a bit more. Someone who lives in the growth mindset understands that they and everyone else are capable of changing, learning, and evolving. That where you are right now is just simply a stop along the line. And that more is coming. I want you to try something for me. Think about the first time that you ever cooked anything? Do you remember how it came out? Was it restaurant quality. Probably not. So what did you do? Did you throw your hands up and say, see, I can't cook and never cooked anything ever again. I certainly hope not. I hope you leaned into trying new things. And I've noticed that over time, what you cook has gotten better and the cooking itself has gotten easier. On the flip side. Do you know anyone or maybe this is you? They got stuck in the story of, I can't cook. What happened? Did they ever learn to cook? Is that something that maybe they outgrew someday for some of us that happens, right. If you started cooking at 12 and you got frustrated and you didn't cook for 10 years, That's okay. But I can tell you with almost certainty that if, as an adult, if today, In this moment, that belief originally was I can't cook and the belief continues to be that. Then they still don't cook. But if at sometime along that journey, there was a thought introduced that. All you have to do is practice. I'm sure that things shifted. The whole idea of practice is literally the foundation of the growth mindset. I can guarantee you that artists like Carlos Santana did not become the guitar superstars that they are. Simply by picking up the guitar one time. And funny enough, the growth mindset recognizes that your mind too can expand and grow and your beliefs will shift as a result. In a similar way. Abundance mindset is rooted in the understanding that all that you desire You can have, in fact. You already have it. And truly living in abundance. You notice all of the abundance around you in everyday life, from nature to resources, to money and goods to emotions. Both of these mindsets are rooted in a place of expansion. A place of possibilities. And this is what becoming the heart-centered CEO is all about. On the flip side, there is a consequence to living in the fixed. Lack or employee mindset. The consequence is not achieving the results you desire. It is in staying stuck in indecision. Living in fear. Playing it small, never getting the job. The partner. Or the life that you desire. Maybe it's just something as simple as settling. But living from this space also creates a sense of disconnect from what you already have in your life. A disconnect from loved ones. Disconnect from your job that you likely spent a lot of energy to land. And the disconnect from the. Objects or items or material goods you already have in your life. So you're constantly seeking more. If I just get that car, then I will know, then I will feel good. And then you get the car and you still don't feel good. And so you move on to the next thing. You're constantly looking for external objects, people or systems to validate that you are worthy. You spent all of your life doing so that you can have what you've always wanted. And then you will be enough and yet. You're never quite. Enough, you never quite get to that place. Always chasing the next shiny object, the next vacation next weekend, the next amazing experience so that you can escape the life that you currently live. When you move from the place of scarcity, when you live in a fixed mindset, things will never change on their own. This mindset actually dictates that you will have exactly what you have. And it will never be more. It'll never be better. It'll never be greater. The beauty though, is that this is just a way of thinking. Uh, way of approaching life that you can actually choose to change. So, if you recognize that staying the same is not what you desire. Then now is the time to take action. Now is the time to learn, to move from a place of abundance and growth mindset. It's time to step into the heart centered CEO mindset. You might be thinking, Pam, in order to run a heart centered business, I need more than the right mindset. And you would be right. However, without the right mindset, you're doomed to fail. So let's start there. So here's the process. Now, this process is probably larger than any other process that I have shared in a podcast or anywhere else outside of my paid content. Which means I recognize that I'm giving you some steps that you have to fall through on, and you have to decide that you're ready to commit to take action. So that's where we start. Are you committed to taking this action? Yes or no, the choice is up to you. So number one, focus on growth and three main areas of your life. Relationally professionally or career and spiritually. I want you to consistently evaluate set goals and just simply decide this month I will and write a goal for each. Make it growth focused, something that brings you joy allows you to feel connected, things like that. And don't worry about success or failure. If you set a relational goal of relationship with self. To take 30 minutes a day. So that you can sit with yourself and check in and you don't hit your target in the time or duration. So you don't hit 30 minutes for 30 days. Just look at how you can tweak things so that you can get there. And know that for many of us. It takes a long time to get there and that's okay. Just focus on all the amazing stuff that rises to the surface while practicing, remember the cookie example you have to practice. It's all about practice. With this practice. I want you to begin by simply taking a piece of paper, create three columns and write relational, professional, spiritual. And I want you to make a list, just dump from your brain. Everything that you want in each of these categories, what do you want your relationships to be? Like? What kind of relationships, how do you want them to feel? What do you want your relationship with yourself to feel like same with professional and spiritual, like do a brain dump, make these lists and then just pick one in each category that you're going to work towards. That is the easiest way to start, because let me just say you could lament over this forever and try to pick the perfect thing to start with. It doesn't matter. Just start taking action. Number two is build your awareness around your language. For example, when you use words that exist in the extremes, things like always, never, nothing must notice how it feels. How does it feel when you say or think. Or when others say to you, you always do that. You never listened to me. Nothing ever works out for me. You must come to this event or you must come to this family dinner, or you're obligated to be there for some reason. These are all low vibrational statements and we'll have you living out of alignment when these thoughts. Or words arise within you, notice them and decide how you replaced them in your vocabulary. Or how you will communicate the message differently. So if the words are coming from you to someone else, This is what you can do. When you don't feel heard by a loved one. Sometimes we resort to saying things like you always, or you never listened to me or those types of things. Right. So when really we're just saying, I don't feel heard. And feeling heard is important. So, how will you find a way to communicate? What you actually need, what's actually going on instead of throwing these extreme words of this extreme language at those in your life. Pull out a sheet of paper and just start making some notes. See what comes up. Number three is outline what you dream of and your business and your life. Make a list of things that you want to achieve. Contributions. Do you want to make relationships you want to have in your life? And. Let me be kind of cheesy for a moment and ask the question that every entry-level job interview. Has ever asked. Where do you see yourself in five years? But I want you to tap into this. By first shifting your beliefs that in five years I will be a heart centered CEO. So in five years, I will be a heart-centered CEO, running a successful business that offers. Fill in the blank. Too. Fill in the blank. And just let it flow from there. As I noted, this has big work. It's hard. And heart is okay. Remember? You get to do hard things because you are meant for great things. And if you're looking to really dive into your roles, heart-centered CEO, and you would like all of the nitty gritty on how to get there. Join my free master class on April 12th at 12 Eastern time.
